How much does it cost to run Aso Rock for 365 days?
In 2026, the Federal Government set aside ₦56.93 billion for six State House offices in Abuja. That is ₦155.97 million a day if spread evenly across the year.
This is the amount in the budget. It does not mean the government has spent it all. We checked the same six offices in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 budgets, then compared them with published payment records.

These figures cover State House Headquarters, the offices of the President and Vice-President, the Chief of Staff, the Chief Security Officer and the State House Medical Centre. We counted the Lagos Liaison Office separately.
The 2023 budget was passed before this administration took office. Later that year, the new government added ₦28bn for State House projects. We show that amount separately because it included projects in both Abuja and Lagos.
What the money was for
These are eight large or recurring areas across the six Abuja offices. Each figure is already part of that year’s total.
These eight areas do not make up the whole budget. Salaries, equipment, construction and other costs are not shown here. The final row and right-hand column total only the eight areas displayed. Food and catering includes food supplies, refreshments and meals. Repairs and maintenance includes routine maintenance and major repair projects.

Where the money went
These are the clearest trails we could follow from a release or contract description to a named supplier and the related tax deductions. We did not add separate stages of the same payment twice.
State House digitalisation
Three payments to Kinexus Nigeria Limited came to ₦8.19bn. The same records listed ₦1.18bn in taxes, bringing the documented gross amount to ₦9.37bn.
Villa maintenance and other work
On 17 September 2024, the records listed ₦8.04bn for Julius Berger and ₦1.16bn in taxes. The description said the money covered unpaid routine maintenance and other work at the Villa.
Sixteen Toyota Prado vehicles
Records dated 18 August 2024 listed ₦3.43bn for Laralek Ultimate Limited and ₦492.28m in taxes for sixteen Toyota Prado V6 vehicles.
Vice-President’s official residence in Lagos
Payments to Dederi Nigeria Limited came to ₦3.37bn. The records also listed ₦480.85m in taxes for the residence project. We have not added a separate earlier release because it may be the same money at another stage.
Ten Toyota Camry cars
Records dated 9 September 2024 listed ₦1.75bn for Mujaf Automobile Nigeria Limited and ₦251.16m in taxes for ten Toyota Camry cars.
Dodan Barracks rehabilitation
On 15 September 2025, the records listed ₦1.51bn for Trucrete Solutions Limited and ₦217.44m in taxes. The description called it a 30 per cent advance for the second phase of the work.
Honoraria with few named recipients
We found 31 honorarium rows. About ₦2.09bn first went to internal State House accounts, so the published records do not identify most of the people who eventually received the money.
We itemised every row we found for the six offices: 684 releases to internal accounts, 275 records naming a recipient and 56 tax deductions. Search by supplier, purpose, year, office or payment stage.

The 2026 budget lists seven State House offices
Six are in Abuja. The seventh is the Lagos Liaison Office. Our ₦56.93bn total covers the six Abuja offices and leaves out the ₦298.33m for Lagos.
The 2026 budget contains more than the broad totals
The 2026 schedule includes a ₦7bn Villa solar mini-grid and separate lines for wildlife capture, animal enclosures, a ranch, flowers, helipad grass, software, telecommunications and vehicle tyres.
The six Abuja offices received ₦71.83bn in the 2025 budget
The Lagos Liaison Office appears separately and is not included in our Aso Rock total.
The 2024 budget included billions for maintenance and vehicles
This page shows ₦9.20bn for annual maintenance of the Villa’s mechanical and electrical installations, ₦4bn for operational vehicles, ₦2bn for replacement SUVs and ₦4.5bn for Julius Berger liabilities.
The 2023 supplementary budget added ₦28bn
It covered vehicles, residences, offices and digitalisation. Because the amount included projects in Abuja and Lagos, we have not added it to the yearly Abuja totals.
The 2023 and 2024 capital budgets ran at the same time
The Budget Office extended the 2023 capital budgets to 31 December 2024. This means a project paid for in 2024 may have come from either year’s budget.
The government’s spending report covers the whole Presidency
The report says the Presidency had ₦82.92bn for capital projects, released ₦65.62bn and used ₦48.74bn. It also includes agencies outside Aso Rock, so these figures are not the State House total.
Budgeted is not the same as spent
The ₦56.93bn figure is what the 2026 budget allows the State House to spend. It is not proof that the government has spent the full amount. To confirm actual spending, we need payment records, contracts and proof that the work was done.
This total does not include the Presidential Air Fleet, National Assembly, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) or Lagos Liaison Office. We report those separately.
