CBN intervenes after banking-sector crisis

Under Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the CBN intervened in several banks after stress tests exposed governance, liquidity, and loan-quality problems. The crisis showed the limits of the earlier consolidation and led to stricter supervision and a new phase of financial-sector governance.
