What happened
Office attached to the Presidency that coordinates national-security policy. Under Sambo Dasuki (June 2012 – May 2015) the office operated impress accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, Skye Bank, Diamond Bank, UBA, Sterling Bank and others through which approximately $2.1bn (plus ₦643.8bn extra-budgetary) is alleged to have been disbursed to private entities and political activities rather than to arms procurement. The 'special services' line-item, signed off by the NSA and addressed directly to the CBN Governor, became the canonical Dasukigate disbursement vehicle. Now headed by Nuhu Ribadu (incumbent, Tinubu cabinet, since 2023).
