In 2026, Nigeria's Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) filed fresh charges against former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai and others over alleged irregularities in a ₦10.8 billion closed-circuit television (CCTV) security project. Singularity Network Security Limited was identified as a recipient of ₦8 billion from the December 2015 contract disbursements. The charges represented a renewed effort by anti-corruption agencies to pursue accountability for the failed infrastructure project that had been under investigation for years.

The Kaduna CCTV project was originally conceived as a comprehensive security surveillance system to monitor the state capital and surrounding areas during a period of heightened security concerns in northern Nigeria. Awarded during el-Rufai's first term as governor, the project was intended to enhance public safety through modern technology infrastructure. However, the project reportedly failed to deliver the promised security coverage despite the substantial financial investment, prompting investigations into potential mismanagement and corruption in the procurement and implementation process.
