Alafin Ajagbo (acceding around the mid-17th century) created the Are-Ona-Kakanfo title, bestowing it on his warrior friend Kokorogangan, and instituted a system of sending out four simultaneous expeditions under the Basorun, Agbakin, Kakanfo and Asipa. Conquest reached the coast with the taking of Weme, and parts of Egba were added.
