Alex Sabundu Badeh

Air Chief Marshal and former Chief of Defence Staff (16 January 2014 – 13 July 2015) under President Jonathan; former Chief of Air Staff (October 2012 – January 2014). Detained by EFCC operatives 8 February 2016; arraigned 7 March 2016 before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja on a 10-count charge of money laundering, criminal breach of trust and corruption involving ₦3.97bn allegedly removed from Air Force accounts. Pleaded not guilty; remanded at Kuje Maximum Prison pending bail. Shot dead by unknown gunmen on 18 December 2018 near his farm at Keffi-Abuja road while his trial was ongoing; killing has never been resolved. Status changed to 'dismissed' as terminal disposition since trial was abated by death without verdict; archive retains as a record.
