Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko

Two-term Governor of Sokoto State (2007–2015), now Senator for Sokoto North. Multiple petitions filed with the EFCC during and after his tenure alleged theft and money laundering totalling ₦15bn over 2011–2015. Daily Trust reported in 2015 that an EFCC source confirmed investigations were ongoing and that Wamakko would be invited to defend the allegations.
