Danjuma Goje

Two-term Governor of Gombe State (2003-2011, PDP) arraigned by EFCC in October 2011, along with four others, on charges of mismanagement and diversion of over N52 billion. Allegedly siphoned funds from UBEC, the State Universal Basic Education Board, and statutory allocations to local governments in Gombe State. Currently serves in the Senate. Okpaga et al. (2012) flag the prosecution as politically pointed given Goje's reported 2015 presidential ambitions and EFCC chair Farida Waziri's alleged personal stake (her spouse Ajuji Waziri lost a Senate primary to a Goje-backed opponent).
