Alleged

Francis Nwifuru

Francis Nwifuru (b. 1975) is the sitting Governor of Ebonyi State since May 2023 (APC), formerly two-term Speaker of the State House of Assembly. His tenure has been characterised by a public anti-corruption purge — including the arrest and suspension of six commissioners over a housing project scandal — which the PDP opposition has urged EFCC to extend to a full state-government probe. No formal allegation against Nwifuru personally is in the corpus; the only specific personal allegation (₦1.1B road contract to an unregistered company, secretsreporter.com) currently lacks mainstream corroboration. Status `alleged` is provisional.
