Seriake Henry Dickson

Seriake Henry Dickson was Governor of Bayelsa State from 14 February 2012 to 14 February 2020 (PDP), the first to serve a full eight-year tenure, presiding over the "Restoration Agenda" that built the Ijaw National Academy, the University of Africa (Toru-Orua), Bayelsa Medical University and Bayelsa State Polytechnic, and grew the state's monthly IGR from ₦50 million to ₦1.2 billion. In August 2021 the EFCC questioned him over two London properties (43 Well Street and 171 Shirland Road), Seychelles/UK offshore companies (Seriake Dickson Investments Limited; Seriake Dickson UK), and alleged misappropriation of ₦32.5bn in Bayelsa State funds, with a separate strand alleging a further ₦17.5bn fraud. The Federal High Court in Yenagoa subsequently barred the EFCC from further investigating or prosecuting him on the basis that the Code of Conduct Bureau had verified his assets. No charges have been filed. He has served as Senator for Bayelsa West since December 2020 under the Nigeria Democratic Congress. Recommend `investigation` as the appropriate schema status.
