Arraigned

Ibrahim Shekarau

Two-term governor of Kano (2003–2011) and later Minister of Education and Senator. Re-arraigned by the EFCC in October 2018 with former Foreign Affairs Minister Aminu Wali and others on eight counts of converting N950 million in public funds; the Federal High Court in Kano ruled in 2019 that he had a case to answer, dismissing his no-case submission. He has not been convicted. The case has seen repeated delays and an EFCC application to transfer it out of Kano.
