Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke

Isiaka Adeleke, the first executive Governor of Osun State (January 1992 – November 1993, SDP, Third Republic), Federal Senator for Osun West (2015–2017, APC), and elder brother of current Governor Ademola Adeleke, was the subject of an EFCC investigation publicly confirmed in February 2007 over alleged fraudulent activities during his time as Chairman of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) between 2000 and 2002. He was then a PDP senatorial candidate. No charges were filed and the investigation did not lead to prosecution before his sudden death on 23 April 2017 (Osogbo). Status: `investigation` (effectively closed by death of subject). Borderline candidate — the underlying offence is federal-appointment misconduct, not state-governorship misconduct.
