John Ebiye

Group Captain John Ebiye (b. 1932) was the last transitional Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom State under General Abdulsalami Abubakar's regime, serving 9 August 1998 – 29 May 1999, and handed over power to the elected civilian governor Victor Attah at the start of the Fourth Republic. He was referenced positively in a 1999 Canadian immigration report about police extortion in Nigeria — he was the governor who set up a complaints phone line to address the issue, not the perpetrator. No documented corruption allegations, charges, or convictions. Recommend `contextual` for transitional-administrator coverage. Now aged 93–94 (still living per latest available record).
