Buhari-era ministry created in 2019 to oversee Nigeria's social-protection portfolio (NSIP, CCT, NSSNCO, Rapid Response Register). Sadiya Umar Farouq was its inaugural minister, 2019–2023. The EFCC's 21-count charge against her and Permanent Secretary Bashir Nura Alkali alleges misappropriation of $1.3m and ₦746.6m linked to its programmes.
