Mustapha Abdullahi
Tinubu-appointed DG of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (appointed 24 October 2023). EFCC operatives arrested him in Abuja on 13 May 2026 over alleged money laundering of about ₦500bn. The arrest came the same day Justice Omotosho sentenced ex-Power Minister Mamman to 75 years, and EFCC framed it as part of an intensified probe of the federal energy portfolio. Premium Times, SaharaReporters, Punch, Guardian, Vanguard and Leadership all confirmed the arrest; no formal charge has been filed.
