Patrick Ziadeke Akpobolokemi

Former Director-General of NIMASA (2010–2015) under President Jonathan. Arraigned 4 December 2015 alongside five others over the alleged diversion of ₦2.6bn from NIMASA coffers for a 'security project' approved by then-President Jonathan; later faced a parallel 22-count ₦8.537bn money-laundering charge before Justice Ayokunle Faji of the FHC Lagos alongside retired Major-General Emmanuel Atewe (former Commander, Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shield) and NIMASA staff Kime Engonzu and Josephine Otuaga. On 22 April 2024, Justice Faji discharged and acquitted Akpobolokemi and Otuaga on the FHC Lagos N8.5bn charge after upholding their no-case submissions; the court held that the EFCC failed to establish a prima facie case and that only one of 11 prosecution witnesses mentioned Akpobolokemi by name. Atewe and Engonzu were ordered to enter their defence on counts 12–22.
