Under investigation
Sadiya Umar Farouq
Inaugural Minister of Humanitarian Affairs under Buhari (2019–2023). On 9 May 2026 the EFCC declared her wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy, abuse of office and diversion of public funds. The wanted notice followed an FCT High Court bench warrant issued 16 April 2026 by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie after she and co-defendants failed to appear for arraignment. The underlying 21-count charge, filed 15 December 2025, accuses her, Permanent Secretary Bashir Nura Alkali, and Sani Mohammed of converting $1.3m and ₦746.6m linked to the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office Rapid Response Register validation programme.
