Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori has served as the 5th elected Governor of Delta State since 29 May 2023 (PDP), sworn in after a contested 2022 PDP gubernatorial primary and certificate-of-return litigation that culminated in a May 2023 Supreme Court ruling affirming his nomination. Previously Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly (2017–2023).
