Vincent Ogbulafor

Former Chairman of the PDP (2008-2010) and former federal Minister. Resigned as PDP Chairman in 2010 following corruption allegations dating to his ministerial tenure (2003). Okpaga et al. (2012) cite the case as a textbook example of selective prosecution: the corruption case 'petered out' after Ogbulafor resigned in favor of a Jonathan-amenable replacement. The case had been 'lying fallow since 2003' and was re-activated only after Ogbulafor said the North would complete Yar'Adua's tenure to 2015 (against the Jonathan succession).
