Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada represents Nasarawa West on a platform built around accountability and constituency service. His 2023 election victory, defeating the APC candidate in the home zone of the party's national chairman, established an unusually independent footing for an opposition senator. His most substantial legislative contribution in the 10th Senate has been his chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, through which he led the most consequential oil-sector audit inquiry of the assembly: the probe of N210 trillion in financial discrepancies in NNPCL's audited accounts from 2017 to 2023, including summons of former GCEO Mele Kyari and an arrest warrant issued in June 2026 (subsequently voided by the full Senate on procedural grounds). His committee also examined N11.54 trillion in alleged unremitted NNPCL subsidy funds and tax arrears. On the constituency axis, documented projects include the rehabilitation of the 18.5km Agwan Takwa Junction-Moroa Town Road (N148.5 million, Kokona LGA, February 2026), payment of WAEC registration fees for 744 students across five LGAs, and reported distribution of healthcare equipment to ten general hospitals. Bills sponsored include the FCT Satellite Towns Development Commission Bill (SB, second reading November 2024), and proposals to upgrade the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa to a university and to upgrade Nasarawa Specialist Hospital Lafia to a teaching hospital. The dominant integrity event is his defection in August 2025 from the SDP to the APC, following a private meeting with President Tinubu, after which he continued to chair the Public Accounts Committee, a position by convention reserved for the opposition, until the Senate replaced him with Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo in April 2026. The SDP threatened legal action over the occupancy of an opposition-designated seat while affiliated with the ruling party.
