Senator Darlington Nwokeocha served as Senator for Abia Central for approximately five months — from 13 June 2023 until 4 November 2023 — before the Court of Appeal, Owerri Division (sitting in Lagos), nullified his election on the grounds that his name was not contained in the Labour Party's membership register submitted to INEC and that LP failed to give INEC 21 days' notice of its primary.
