Diket Satso Plang

Senator, Plateau Central (Senatorial) · APC

Assessment Profile06

Diket Satso Plang (born 12 December 1972) was declared winner of the Plateau Central senatorial election on 15 April 2023 by INEC after a supplementary election, polling 131,129 votes on the APC platform. A tribunal upheld his election in October 2023 and he has remained the seated senator since 13 June 2023. He chairs the Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Federal Character. His identifiable legislative output includes: sponsoring the Federal University of Mining and Geo-Science, Jos bill (passed the Senate in December 2024), a bill for a National Eye Care Centre in Mangu (Plateau Central), a bill for a Federal Medical Centre in Kanke, the National Institute of Irrigation (Establishment) Bill 2025, and advocacy motions on the Plateau security killings in late 2023. In his constituency, reported interventions include distribution of farming inputs to constituents, empowerment of approximately 4,500 beneficiaries with N7.8 million in cash and equipment, perimeter fencing of secondary schools in Mangu, Pankshin and Kanke, solar-powered lighting to schools and health centres, and construction of police facilities in Gindiri and Kantana. No EFCC or ICPC proceedings have been reported against him. He lost the APC Plateau Central senatorial primary in May 2026, with the results disputed by his supporters. Overall, the record shows moderate legislative initiative and active constituency-level distribution work but lacks independently verified project completion data; confidence is medium.
