Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has represented Osun East (Ife-Ijesa zone) since June 2019 and was re-elected in February 2023. His legislative record is anchored by his background as a retired senior customs officer: in the 9th Senate he served as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise, using that platform to call publicly for the sacking of Customs Comptroller General Col. Hammed Ali over alleged recruitment irregularities and later to oppose the proposed concession of customs revenue collection to a foreign firm. In the 10th Senate he chairs the Senate Committee on Industry and sponsored the Orthopaedic Hospital Amendments Bill, which the Senate passed in April 2025, and an earlier bill for a Federal University of Education in Ilesa. Constituency-side, documented palliative distributions — 150 buses, 300 motorcycles, and other items in June 2022; 3,000 bags of rice at Ilase-Ijesa; seedlings across all 10 local government areas in 2025 — show sustained, if welfare-style, engagement with the district. His floor posture on security has been forthright: he criticised the silo mentality among security agencies and in December 2025 publicly urged President Tinubu to replace the NSA with a retired military officer. The integrity axis is weakened by a mid-term party switch: he resigned from the PDP in June 2025 and was formally received into the APC in February 2026, departing the party on whose platform he was twice elected. The PDP subsequently filed suit in the Federal High Court seeking his removal. No EFCC or ICPC charges have been filed against him.
