Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo brings an unusually deep public-finance pedigree to the 10th Senate: a former Accountant-General of the Federation (2005-2011) who architected the Treasury Single Account, IPPIS, and GIFMIS reforms at the federal level, and a two-term Governor of Gombe State (2011-2019). His legislative record since June 2023 is mixed. He served as inaugural chairman of the Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, overseeing NDLEA budget hearings and a public hearing on the National Institute on Drugs Awareness and Rehabilitation Bill (HB449). In April 2026 he was elevated to chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) -- the post conventionally reserved for an opposition senator -- a role he has used to pursue the Auditor-General's findings on an alleged N210 trillion discrepancy in NNPCL accounts for 2017-2023, including ordering the arrest of the former NNPCL GCEO. On bills, he sponsored at least two institution-establishment bills for Gombe North (Federal College of Forestry, Wawa Zange, Dukku and an upgrade of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe to university status). His integrity posture is mixed: he voluntarily requested suspension of his former-governor pension of N694,557.82 monthly in October 2023, a step publicly commended by civil-society groups, but his governorship tenure drew allegations of financial mismanagement, including the successor administration's disclosure of a N1.3 billion EFCC-assisted recovery and a large inherited gratuity arrears backlog. No criminal charges have been filed against him as of the date of compilation. On constituency delivery, no independently verified capital project in Gombe North attributable to his senatorial zonal interventions has been located in publicly accessible records.
