Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai
Senator, Yobe South (Senatorial) · APC
Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has served two consecutive terms for Yobe South (9th and 10th National Assembly, 2019–present), bringing a background of three decades in federal financial administration — including as Director of Treasury of the FCT Administration — to his legislative role. His most significant committee appointment is Chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT in the 10th Senate, a posting he leveraged to sponsor the FCT Statutory Appropriation Bill 2026 (SB.1020), which passed and authorised N2.285 trillion in FCT expenditure. On constituency delivery, his office reports over 60 solar-powered boreholes, multiple road projects in Potiskum, Nangere, Fika, and Fune LGAs, ICT centres in Damagum and CAMTECH Potiskum, and a Women Cash Support Scheme for 4,000 beneficiaries. However, the ICPC tracked 124 executive and constituency projects worth N37 billion across Yobe's three senatorial districts in 2023, and questions over a borehole and transformer under his allocation arose in 2025, which Bomai attributed to contractor and MDA responsibility. On promises, no published campaign manifesto has been located; stated priorities of infrastructure, water, and youth empowerment are partially evidenced in delivered projects. His integrity record includes denying defection rumours in April 2026, condemning a consensus governorship process before withdrawing from the gubernatorial race in May 2026, and reporting an August 2024 attack on his Potiskum home during the nationwide protests, which he attributed to political opponents. No legal charges or court proceedings have been identified. The overall record is mixed: real constituency delivery with above-average committee work, offset by ICPC-monitored project questions and limited independently audited delivery data.
No court or anti-graft case on public record in this archive as of compilation. Absence of a record is not a clearance.
This grade rates performance in office, not any person’s guilt. Criminal matters appear above only as their court status. How we grade.
