Jide Ipinsagba

Senator, Ondo North (Senatorial) · APC

Assessment Profile06

Senator Olajide Ipinsagba (APC, Ondo North) assumed office on 13 June 2023, succeeding Robert Ajayi Boroffice who held the seat from 2011 to 2023. Note: the tasking description references Ayo Akinyelure as the prior senator; Akinyelure in fact represented Ondo Central under PDP, not Ondo North. Ipinsagba has posted a modest legislative record for a first-term senator, most notably sponsoring a bill for a Federal University of ICT in Ikare Akoko that passed a Senate third reading reportedly in May 2025, and bills to upgrade the Government Technical College, Owo, and to amend the Petroleum Industry Act. He chairs the Senate Committee on Public Procurement and serves as Vice Chairman on the Petroleum Downstream committee. Against these positives, constituency delivery evidence is contested: a youth alliance in February 2025 alleged that only an estimated N500 million of N4.5 billion in constituency-project funds allocated across his tenure had been visibly spent, and independent project audits (BudgIT, Tracka) have not verified his office's project claims. Multiple recall threats have been issued. A political aide resigned in July 2025 citing an unchanged N20,000 monthly salary in breach of the national minimum wage, and Ipinsagba's office declined to comment publicly. He lost the APC senatorial primary for a second term in May 2026 to Gbenga Elegbeleye. No court proceedings, EFCC, or ICPC matters have been identified in the public record.
