Musa Mustapha
Senator, Yobe East (Senatorial) · APC
Senator Musa Mustapha (APC, Yobe East) entered the Senate through a February 2024 bye-election held after his predecessor and son-in-law, Ibrahim Gaidam, was appointed Minister of Police Affairs. His tenure is therefore partial — roughly 28 months of the 10th Assembly's four-year mandate. Within that limited window his most verifiable achievement is a committee chairmanship: in December 2025 he was appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs, and in that capacity chaired the committee whose report was adopted before the National Assembly passed the N68 trillion 2026 federal budget. He has also made public security statements on attacks in Yobe State. His pre-Senate career as a Yobe State commissioner provides evidence of executive-branch competence. However, no independently verified constituency projects have been documented through BudgIT, Tracka, or major newsrooms during his brief tenure; his campaign promises are lightly recorded; and he stepped down from the 2027 race in April 2026, endorsing outgoing Governor Buni for his own seat. The brevity of tenure limits scoring; two axes are rated.
