Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya, elected on a PDP platform in February 2023, represents the eight local governments of Niger South (Bida, Agaie, Gbako, Mokwa, Edati, Lavun, Katcha, and Lapai). His legislative output in the 10th Senate has been thin: he was named among 24 senators who had introduced no bills within the first year of the assembly. On the committee side, he was assigned as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committees on Aviation and Capital Markets, roles in which no publicly documented investigative hearing or committee output attributable to him has been located. His constituency activity is the most substantive part of his record: he distributed 100 water-pumping machines to farmers in January 2025, organised a financial literacy training for 120 market women and youths from across the eight LGAs with N50,000 grants per participant, and distributed modern farm inputs to over 200 farmers. No independently audited project delivery (Tracka or BudgIT) has been confirmed for Niger South. His principal integrity event is his defection from the PDP to the APC in March 2026, citing irreconcilable internal party divisions, approximately three years after winning the seat on a PDP ticket, and three months after his resignation from the PDP was effective, the Senate President read the formal notification into plenary. No criminal proceedings against Jiya have been recorded in publicly available sources.
