What happened
Briefly served as Acting Governor of Kogi State from 6 February to 29 March 2008 following the Supreme Court's annulment of Ibrahim Idris's election; returned to his role as Speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly after Idris won the fresh election. In July 2008 he was invited by the EFCC to explain his role in the alleged misappropriation of ₦12 billion of state funds during his ~7-week tenure; he has consistently denied the allegations. No formal charges have been reported in the imported corpus. He later transitioned from PDP to APC and became a traditional ruler (Olokedagun of Okedagun-Mopa).
