Reign of Mai Idris Aloma, Borno's military and commercial peak

Mai Idris Aloma reigned from 1569/70 to 1619, considered the greatest of Borno's leaders. He pacified the northern borders, defeated the Bulala, subdued non-Muslim groups, and used Turkish horses, guns, and musketeers acquired through the slave trade to dominate his foes.
